My latest mural project in Montreal Quebec Canada is coming to a close, but it has been an absolute pleasure working here in this amazing place on this amazing design. I never would have pictured myself doing such a large scale mural when I had first started my adventures in artwork. I was certainly not the best in my classes as a kid, though I was determined to make my mark and to produce the most authentic and personal work that I could as I got older.
This determination manifested in hours upon hours or tireless exercise and energy to hone my craft into something I could be proud of as I reviewed my progress. It was this persistence that I credit to my success, because were it not for those long hours at home and in the studio, I might never have had the breakthroughs that kept me growing and evolving.
One day, I received a phone call after an exhibition that I had completed the night before, thinking that perhaps it was the curator calling to ask for a few additional pieces, or a prospect curious about the cost of a piece, I was dumbfounded when it was the owner of a building in Montreal Quebec Canada looking for an artist to complete a mural on the side of the building for the whole world to see. So of course I accepted!
Even though I was insanely excited, I was also incredibly nervous since this was my largest commission to date! Having never done anything quite like this before, I immediately began preparing.
After having gotten the initial design down, I worked with the commissioner to set dates for hands-on work, and my next move was to call Gesthab to book an executive suite in Montreal! Knowing that I had my housing in place, I was able to handle the rest of the logistics smoothly as well.
